I’m Saul Davies, a freelance sound engineer and music producer based in Mitcheldean, Gloucestershire. Through SD Music, I work with bands and independent artists across Gloucestershire, Bristol, Hereford and Cwmbran, operating in a range of professional studios and recording spaces depending on the needs of each project.

I’m currently in my fifth year of studying music production and sound engineering, working towards completing my degree, and I bring both academic training and real-world experience into every session. My work covers recording engineering, mixing and mastering, with a focus on clear, powerful and musical results that translate well across platforms.

I specialise in rock, pop punk, jazz and alternative music production, and I take a flexible, artist-first approach that suits DIY musicians as well as more established bands. As a freelance audio engineer, I aim to create relaxed, collaborative sessions while maintaining a professional workflow and high technical standards.

Whether working in studios in Bristol, Hereford, Gloucestershire or Cwmbran, or supporting artists remotely through mixing and mastering, my goal is always the same: to deliver honest, professional production that serves the song without the pressure or expectations of a traditional in-house recording studio.
