I’m Saul Davies, a freelance sound engineer, mixer and music producer based in Mitcheldean, Gloucestershire. Through SD Music, I work with bands, artists, venues and events across Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Monmouthshire, covering both live sound and studio-based recording and production.

I hold a BA (Hons) in Music Production and Sound Engineering, graduating with a high 2:1, and I’m an Avid Certified Professional in Pro Tools. Alongside my formal training, I’ve built hands-on experience across live sound, FOH and monitor mixing, stage and event setup, recording, mixing and mastering. Whether working on a live show or in the studio, I focus on reliable technical work and getting the best possible result from the equipment, space and people involved.

I have a particular interest in rock, pop punk, alternative and other guitar-driven music, while also working across a range of styles and live environments. I take a flexible, practical approach to each project, whether that means running sound for a band, supporting a live event, recording a session or mixing tracks remotely.

As a freelance engineer, I aim to create a relaxed and collaborative working environment while maintaining a professional workflow and high technical standards. From live sound and event work through to recording, mixing and production, my goal is to provide straightforward, professional audio support that works for the artist, venue or event.
